Dell Launches PartnerDirect Program

After months of speculation about how Dell would increase its engagement with the channel, the company in early December unveiled its global partner program, called PartnerDirect. Participation in the Partner- Direct program is currently available to partners in the United States, and will soon be available to additional partner groups and countries.

Features of the new program include a dedicated partner Web site, partner logo usage and guidelines for some marketing activities, dedicated sales and customer care, certification paths and training, and customer financing and deal registration. The company also says it plans to increase its number of reseller partners, create a formal deal registration program, and increase channel sales to overtake its direct sales numbers. Through a partner online community, Dell seeks to broaden conversations about how it can best work with its partners, meet their needs, and help them simplify IT for their customers.

“Our partners around the world generated approximately $9 billion in Dell run-rate revenue in the past year alone, and we’re collaborating to help partners grow and become even more efficient, profitable, and competitive,” says Greg Davis, Dell vice president and general manager of the Americas Channel Group.
